Wendo had an amazing job in animation for over 40 years… working on Traditional Feature Animated Films where she was one of the “drawers”. Some of the features she worked on include Land Before Time Began, the Goofy Movie, Ferngully, and The Princess and the Frog. She had been interested in the needle arts since she was a child and continued to discover new and wonderful opportunities to study them as she moved around the world in the pursuit of her career. She gleaned an acute awareness of the tactile nature of textiles so she studied with a Korean embroidery master and a Thai batik spirit cloth maker, learned how to dye saris in Singapore and finally in Berlin, found the art of felt making. For 20 years, after the computer took over traditional animation, she worked on her craft, selling at shows and galleries. Her felted sculptures are whimsical and functional.
