Teresa Wingar

The Slip Trailed Pottery

Studio location #10. 3181 Diamondview Road, Kinburn

Teresa trained in England and draws her influences from Slipware of Medieval times through to the 18th century, William Morris, Ancient Persia and textiles.
Each piece is thrown on the potter’s wheel and decorated by piping on clay slip from a squeeze bottle with a fine nozzle and leaving a slightly raised colored patterns.
Old school style, she mixes her own clay slips and glazes, which allows her to produce her own signature colours and textures. She enjoys developing new designs each season and also has fun with modern ceramic materials, whilst still maintaining the “New Antique” appearance of her pieces.
Although highly decorative and collectable, her pottery is functional, food safe and oven proof.
Her rural Kinburn Studio is open to visit by appointment as are her gardens.
