Shiny Things by Roxanne

Studio location #8. 273 Riverwood Drive, Woodlawn.

Roxanne is a glass artist based in rural west Ottawa. Since 2014, she has followed her passion for glass after taking her first class on how to make glass beads. Watching the glass melt over a torch was (and continues to be) pure magic for her.
A major influence for Roxanne’s work is her love of nature and travel. This has led her to an organic approach, relying heavily on shape, texture and colour, to create one-of-a-kind glass art and jewelry. While Roxanne continues to expand her glass blowing techniques, she is constantly looking to challenge her skills with new techniques; she has been working on more sculptural glass work as well as combining the art of silversmithing with glass.

“The beauty of lampworking is that it is a journey, not a destination.”
