At TorwoodStudios, the fusible glass is cut to shape and size it. It is then decorated using a multitude of materials (ie frit, stringers, slurry, enamels) and techniques. It is then put into a kiln and heated to a temperatures ranges from 700-850 degrees to soften or liquify the glass into one.

Kathy Wildgen is a fused glass artist based in Dunrobin on the shores of the Ottawa River. Her work explores the interplay of light, color, and texture through kiln-formed glass, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility. Inspired by nature, she creates pieces that shift and transform as the light changes. Kathy works primarily with panels, vessels, and wall pieces, layering glass and imagery through multiple firings to achieve depth and nuance. Her workshop, and this studio tour offer a glimpse into both their creative process and the finished work.
