Crocheted textile jewellery with ‘found’ embellishments including beads of all kinds and leather.
We crochet necklaces, earrings and brooches using standard crochet stitches but re-interpreted in modern ways. We also incorporate pre-loved jewellery findings as well as leather and fabric.
The sister duo behind the hookk brand began their love of crafting in childhood watching the women of their family sew, crochet and knit. They feel inspired by many artistic mediums, but none resonate as deeply as working with natural fibres through crochet where they take standard crochet stitches and reinterpret them in modern ways. The sisters are now in their fifth year of designing and creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery and have loved being a part of the Ottawa Valley textile community. Their pieces can be found in the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum Shop in Almonte, and Riverguild Fine Crafts in Perth.
