Zucchini Blossom Studio

Zucchini Blossom Studio is Sarah V Heagle, an artist and educator based in Ottawa.  
Sarah is fascinated by barriers and intersections occurring in fine arts and illustration, and exploring the liminal spaces between them.  Works are created using acrylic paint and drawing mediums on canvas and board, which allows Sarah to engage with textures created by layers of colour. 
Words thread through her work, both as inspiration and as literal elements in select pieces; sometimes these are decoupaged from thrifted texts. An emerging exploration of encaustic painting is challenging Sarah to collage in more organic ways.  At the moment, animals are her subject of choice thanks to the stories they evoke and the personalities they convey. 
Recent shows include Monsky Gallery’s Narnia Show (July 2025) and Vodkow’s featured artist (August 2025)
