Chris Van Zanten Hot Glass Studio

Chris Van Zanten is a multi-disciplined Glass Artist who started his formal art education at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAAD) in the mid ‘70”s. For the past 29 years he has focused on Art Glass. This has included architectural stained glass and hot glass. He has participated in studio tours, art shows and private exhibitions. He continues to do private commissions in both stained glass and hot glass for a broad range of clientele. Chris began his studies in hot glass in Corning, New York in 1996. He trained at varies studios there and then continued closer to home in Ontario, Canada. Chris then set out to build and design his own hot glass shop in 2005. It is located between Almonte and Arnprior just up the road from Ottawa, Ontario; close to Pakenham, one of the five municipalities that make up Mississippi Mills. That is where you will find him most days-turning a pipe and working beside the heat of a 2100 F furnace. Chris states, “I see a new horizon each time I look into the flames. It has become the fire in my bones.”
