Guest at Studio #6. 117 Lady Jennifer Way, Dunrobin.
Fulfilling a `bucket list’ goal to learn metalsmithing was all it took to ignite Vicki’s passion for creating wearable art.
Nature and the earth’s elements provide never-ending inspiration for her jewellery. Using precious and base metals, one-of-a-kind, semi-precious stones and found objects, Vicki loves to explore both traditional and unconventional jewellery-making materials and techniques in expressing my ideas. Through metal-etching, fusing, fold-forming and piercing, Vicki looks for ways to bring meaning, dimension and texture to every piece that she makes. Vicki’s creative journey doesn’t seek the precious or perfect, instead she likes to share the processes of her craft, including the honest marks of the tools that enable it. Vicki purposefully seeks to create a sense of time and timelessness, to evoke feelings and conjure memories. Vicki’s greatest joy is seeing that inspiration understood and reflected back to her by those who connect with her work.
As Vicki likes to say: Life is too short to wear boring jewellery!
